Description
Key Features
Four ultrasonic transducers: Distribute protection across selected areas of your vessel or equipment.
Chemical-free fouling control: Uses ultrasonic energy to help inhibit biofouling on protected surfaces.
Continuous operation: Designed to remain powered around the clock.
Low power consumption: Average system consumption of 26 watts on AC power or 24 watts on DC power.
Flexible power supply: Operates on 110/230V AC or 13–30V DC.
Marine-ready components: IP65-rated control box and IP68-rated transducers.
Flexible cable routing: Each transducer includes a 7.5-meter cable, extendable up to 20 meters.
How It Works
Sonihull Quad transmits ultrasonic energy through transducers bonded to the dry side of the surface being protected. This energy helps disrupt the formation of biofilm—the layer of microscopic organisms that encourages further marine growth.
Four transducers allow protection to be distributed across multiple locations. The appropriate placement and number of systems depend on the vessel’s size, material, construction, and the equipment being protected.
Compatibility and Installation
Sonihull Quad is suitable for materials that transmit ultrasound effectively, including fiberglass-reinforced composites, aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, and rigid plastics.
Cored fiberglass hulls require special installation considerations so the transducers can couple directly to the dry side of the outer hull skin. The system is not suitable for wooden hulls.
The control box should be installed in a suitable dry location, with electrical connections completed by a qualified electrician. The AC voltage selector must be set correctly for the available supply before installation.
