Marine OCM-PD Oil Cleaning Modules
The OCM-PD Series category covers skid-mounted oil cleaning modules designed for continuous purification of lubricating and hydraulic oils in marine service. OCM systems are intended to separate oil, water, and sludge components so downstream equipment operates with cleaner, more stable oil quality.
How OCM Oil Cleaning Works
OCM systems are modularized and pre-configured on a skid for easier installation. Separation takes place in a disc stack centrifuge: contaminated oil is pumped into the separator, where centrifugal force separates phases by density so solids/sludge and water are driven outward while cleaned oil is discharged continuously.
Why Oil Cleaning Matters Onboard
Contamination in lubricating and hydraulic oils can drive corrosion, additive degradation, filter loading, and accelerated wear. By removing free water and solid impurities on a continuous basis, an OCM module supports improved reliability and can reduce oil consumption and disposal burden over time.
Typical Marine Applications
OCM modules are commonly applied as a by-pass cleaning system for lubricating and hydraulic oil circuits, providing purification while the primary equipment is operating—and, where required, continuing purification even during standstill conditions.
